To exercise or not to exercise, is this the question? Fit? Then you don’t need to? Fat? You mean you want to but is hard? Old? So it’s gone? Kid? When you grow? Woman? Just for few pounds?
Are these reasons to why do we or don’t we exercise? After all every one else is on some weight loss program so why not? Or it’s costly, walking should be enough?
Dear reader, any more questions please? What’s going on about exercise that so many confusing questions are asked in lieu to the immediate need for something better? Is exercise still good to do despite all confusion?
Do you agree, oh reader, if I say exercise starts not physically? Really? But how can you exercise with no movement? From these questions that you already have heard and many more you are more aware now that to start doing exercise first starts in the mind. You start to think about similar questions we asked here, and make an effort to find the best advice you may get from established ‘minds’ in the field. Some body builders said that their number one muscle is their mind.
Positive thinking and having a vision have been used widely by successfull people. Sure, you can use it too together with your firm belief and determination.
Some people today are misinformed about exercise. Most may even not bother to read any useful info and just tend to copy from others. Why do some people spend a lot of money on high priced equipment and get little result? Why do they struggle to drop some pounds? Why are they caught by the next promising weight loss programme? The reason I've witnessed is that these people don’t educate themselves. They do little to educate themselves about fact and fiction. Yet would a strong pill really drop off the added weight? Perhaps would it drop some points off your health with it? People today tend to believe in technology more than the power within themselves. A trick marketers have utilised well to make millions out of scam.
There are also those who don’t realise the real benefit regular exercise offers. Exercise for this group is used only as a rescue (not a lifestyle). When there seems to be a problem then it would matter to give it some serious consideration. Only to drop it from the list once again when back to normal. Exercise is also seen by some people as hard and challenging. Why go for it when there are plenty of pleasures and entertainment around. An easy going life is cooler!
You don’t have to become a top athlete to see the fruits of your exercise. Nevertheless, aerobic and anaerobic exercise performed regularily at moderate level can really change your life to good. I hear some people say yes we know how good it is but we can’t, have no time, have to pay alot, or change lifestyle and similar excuses. Fact is that the human body naturally tends to store fat as we grow, and the percentage of fat to total body weight increases with age. Bone loss and weaker frame are also inevitable as you choose more sedentary lifestyle. Body shape of an active person who does exercise looks better than a sedentary one.
Exercise may lead injury. This is due to few reasons. These could be improper use, lack of proper warm up, excessive use of force or speed, or because they chose to play the wrong game. By wrong game I mean one that doesn’t benefit the body much and may make it prone to injury. Look at footballers. Their body looks drained and the injury rate could be moderate to high. Many have been injured and undergone operation. Why do you play a sport your body doesn’t need? Why do if the risk of injury is high too? For these, (there are others too), football and similar sports (group sports especially) offer less benefit and some physically negative consequence to the body and mind.
The human body is designed for work not rest as one might think otherwise is true. You probably heard from people who say work so that you will rest and relax. In fact we take rest to be prepared to work.
Why exercise? The benefits of exercise are far more than weight loss or endurance. Doing exercise works the whole system of body as well the mind. Doing exercise is not meant solely for rescuing out-of-shape bodies. Exercise is not a mechanical movement. It’s a move from within to a desired state of being. Physical exercise as the term clearly denotes is for the physical body but you also need your positiveness and morale. Exercise helps strengthen the body’s immune system to eject toxins; it improves digestion, mental clarity, physical strength, blood circulation, morale, body shape and image. One more point. There is a general thinking that good exercise for the body is aerobic- aerobic means with oxygen. Aerobic exercise improves respiration, heart pumping efficiency, body toning, more red blood cells, and overall mental health. Where are the muscular strength, build, size, shape, and aesthetic elements? Anaerobic exercise has the answer. Anaerobic exercise is high intensity that works on strength and muscular development. There’s a historical misconception about strength training until modern time. The problem they think is that the body’s growing look is natural and any attempt to change shape and add muscle is against the will of the body and is superficial and short lived. Today it’s a common practice in many sports to include strength training in their training regimen as part of the preparations for games. Both types of exercise give different results depending on what you want to achieve.
A balanced exercise is one that combines both aerobic and anaerobic with emphasis on the second if you want to prepare for tough situations that make use of your strength. For overall heart health and body condition aerobic exercise performed moderately keeps you refreshed. Based on the end result you want make a skilful combination of the two for a complete programme.
